Cooling and Heating Problems
One of the few things you want to see from your car is an overheated engine. Overheating can damage an engine. A vehicle will overheat due to a lack of needed maintenance. Here at Performance Alley we provide maintenance and repairs for your heating and cooling system.
Cooling System Hoses
Rubber parts like cooling system hoses are not designed to last the life of your vehicle. They are recommended to be replaced every 5 years or 60,000 miles. This will prevent them from getting too old and unpredictable.
Radiators
We use top quality radiators made by Koyo, Mishimoto, and Griffin. These are all original equipment radiator manufactures for companies like Ford, Chrysler and Honda. Buying directly from these companies allows us to offer an unbeatable Limited Lifetime Part Warranty.
Water Pumps
We have found many inferior quality water pumps being sold. That’s why we use only Original Equipment or Top Quality water pumps.
Coolant Flushing
Old coolant can harm your engine. A coolant flushing machine is a unique machine is designed to use a special chemical cleaning the removes deposits inside your cooling system, which can cause leaks. It leaves nothing behind by replacing 100% of the old coolant.
How To Avoid An Overheat
Your vehicle’s cooling system is not designed to last the life of the vehicle. Old coolant can ruin head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, radiators and water pumps. Rubber parts like belts and hoses should be replaced every 5 years or 60,000 miles. They can last longer than this but the odds of failure increase. A failure can and most always leads to an overheat. The driver may not even know the engine is overheating. How is that? When a cooling system loses coolant the temperature sensor may no longer be touching water. Therefore, making your temperature gauge no longer read correctly. An overheated can blow the head gasket and even damage then engine main bearing.
Engine overheat can be caused by a variety of things, but all symptoms can play back to how an engine is treated. It requires routine maintenance and special care from an individual and/or a mechanic to continue proper functionality. Diagnosing problems should be left to the professionals, such as our Lewisville, TX mechanics at Performance Alley
Engine overheat can be caused by anything specific from a loose radiator cap to failure with a properly functioning water pump. Here are three things to look for that may be signs of overheating.
- Low coolant levels: The proper mix of water and antifreeze keep the temperature in your car regulated. A low amount of coolant could be a sure sign of overheating.
- Failed thermostat gauge: Your car’s thermostat, much like the home or office thermostat, monitors the temperature of the engine. If the temperature gauge fails, this can be detrimental.
- Faulty sensors: If you don’t have a sensor to tell you that your engine may be failing, how would you know if it is overheating? Make sure all sensors are working properly.
There are plenty other tell-tale signs of engine overheat, and our Lewisville, TX car care specialists are more than happy to assist you. Call us today, or visit us online for information.
Dallas Suspension Repair
Steering & Suspension
Your vehicle should have a well maintained steering and suspension system. Performance Alley is the Dallas, Fort Worth’s premier suspension shops. Not only do we do your basic original quality replacements we also handle the top aftermarket parts available to give your that 100k feel with the price tag. The reason to have it properly maintained is not just to have a comfortable ride. It is needed to keep your vehicle safe at all times.
Shocks & Struts
Shocks and Struts provide more than just a smooth ride. They support and protect the rest of the steering and suspension components. We sell only top quality shocks and struts from companies like Tokico, Bilstein, Koni, Tein, Monroe and KYB. Does the quality really matter? Yes. Shocks and struts are to a car like shoes are for a runner. You will never see a runner buy cheap shoes because they will not offer protection to the rest of the body like the knees and ankles.
Lowering Springs
Stabilize your suspension with custom-designed leaf springs and coil springs from B&G, Eibach, Tein, and many more . These performance leaf springs and coil springs can shave off a few inches of height to your auto resulting in reduced squat during acceleration, body roll in corners and excessive nose-dive under braking.
Lift Kits
If your motto is “go huge or go home,” then you need a Lift Kit. Our Lift Kits raise your suspension up to take on those tough trails or dominate the streets. All of our Suspension Lift Kits are engineered to perfectly fit your exact vehicle. These Kits have everything you need to bolt on some extra height for fitting oversize tires and beefing up your ride.
Power Steering
If your power steering system needs repairs we can replace the power steering pump, rack and pinion, hoses and valves. However, we recommend avoiding power steering repairs by cleaning and flushing the lubrication fluid every 30,000 miles. Old fluid does not lubricate the system like it requires which leads to unnecessary repairs.
Major Repairs
We provide major repairs for steering and suspension parts like idler arms, tie rods, ball joints and more.
